However, the limited battery life, limited screen options, and hot spots on the bottom of the notebook prevented it from earning top honors. If you can live with the flaws I just mentioned, then the HP Pavilion dv6z makes an excellent choice for a desktop replacement notebook.

The most impressive aspect of the N150's performance is its battery life. The device lasted for five hours and two minutes in the intensive Battery Eater Classic test, which is impressive, considering its battery is a relatively modest, 4400mAh unit. Older netbooks can last this length of time too, but, generally speaking, they require much larger, heavier laptop batteries to do so. The Eee PC 1000HE, for example, lasted five hours and 48 minutes in the same test, but had an 8700mAh battery pack. This speaks volumes about Intel's work with the Atom N450 CPU.

The folks at Engadget Chinese somehow managed to get their hands on a slide that seems to suggest what product releases the company has planned for 2010, as well as which previous lines they will replace. A version of the same slide made its way out of hiding some time before, which hinted at Lenovo(ThinkPad T60 Battery)'s intention to launch a number of new products, namely the ThinkPad Edge, as well as the T410 and T510. This “latest iteration,” however, seems to imply that the PC vendor has more in store for consumers than it was previously suggested.

Toshiba(Dynabook Satellite T10 battery)'s loaded up this puppy with its typical proprietary software, including its Bulletin Board and ReelTime applications. However, it's what Best Buy's put on that's a bit peeving -- the Best Buy Software Installer, which is basically a digital version of the retailer's box software aisle, popped up more often than we'd like.
